The Working CONCEPT

In 1998, we had a new seed of an idea.

The idea was simple but revolutionary. In its simplest form, the idea was that the performance of anything around us is limited by 'imperfections' in the system. 

Therefore, the objective of Rapidinnovation is to discover such 'imperfections' so as to eliminate them that enables the system to 'auto correct' itself and bring about the desired output. It goes straight to the heart of the matter that can bring about very dramatic and lasting impacts and great organizational transformations.

And over the years through our hard work and research we have built a number of principles based on our study of nature and problems and failures that take place all around us (we have by now studied more than 10,000 different types of problems -- no two of which were ever the same since the context was always different). We found that these principles provide the simplest possible solutions and answers to eliminate multiple problems in different dimensions in a single stroke to bring about dramatic but sustainable improvements in performance and profitability.

What is strange about these simple principles is that you can virtually apply these to any field of human and social activity and to any type of live and complex problem we face on a day to day basis. 

What we have, is the creative and analytical confidence that, when given a difficult problem, we have a methods to come up with a solution that nobody has thought before.

He continues to advise us as he has done so for his many students and 27 PhD scholars. An extremely innovative teacher and engineer: he ushered in many new concepts in his day which were nothing short of revolutionary. He retired as a Chairman of WM Engineering. He lovingly nutured the 'seed of an idea' of 'Design Innovation' and helped it grow to its present world class status. It is he who gave the name of Rapid Innovation to describe our work and process.
